Part 2 of the Illuminae files which I have only started to read recently, after thinking I wouldn’t be able to get on with the format, but actually discovering I loved it!

Part 2 takes place at the same time frame as Part 1 in 2575, but this time we are on Jump Station Heimdall.  The stars of the story are Hanna, the spoilt daughter of the captain and Nik a member of a notorious crime family.  Told in the same way as Illuminae with reports, instant messages and pictures, we are thrown straight into the story when the space station is attacked by an elite group of soldiers from BeiTech, the same company that ordered the destruction of Kerenza, with the aim of destroying the wormhole to stop Kady Grant and the Hypatia getting to the space station and telling them what happened to Kerenza.  Not only do they have an invasion of deadly humans to deal with, they also find themselves overrun by alien predators!

I loved this as much as Illuminae and despite having to get to know new characters, the action soon picks up and you are invested in Hanna and Nick and their survival.  The authors write great characters and there is lots of humour as well as threat.  They certainly know how to tug as the heart strings and keep you reading.  Can I just out my hand up to say how much I liked Ella?  Possibly my favourite character!  An exciting and thrilling sequel.
