Think you know the story? Think again.

She has everything at stake; he has everything to lose. But one of them is lying, all the same.

When an Oxford student accuses one of the university’s professors of sexual assault, DI Adam Fawley’s team think they’ve heard it all before. But they couldn’t be more wrong.

Because this time, the predator is a woman and the shining star of the department, and the student a six-foot male rugby player.

Soon DI Fawley and his team are up against the clock to figure out the truth. What they don’t realise is that someone is watching.

And they have a plan to put Fawley out of action for good…

The Whole Truth is the 5th book in the DI Adam Fawley series – I read All the Rage, the 4th book in the series last year and thoroughly enjoyed it so was thrilled to be invited on the blog tour for this one.  These books can be read as standalones so you don’t have to have read the previous instalments (although of course, it’s always best if you can), and this one has a useful guide at the beginning to all the major characters and their backstories.

There were multiple strands to this story – to begin with, the team are called in to investigate a case of sexual assault at Oxford University but everyone is surprised when they realise that a young male well built rugby playing student is accusing a female professor of sexual assault. The “Roadside Rapist” has also been released from prison and the Fawley’s are nervous about his release as they both were involved in his conviction.

As well as the traditional narrative, we also are treated to a podcast aiming to prove that Gavin Parrie was wrongly convicted as the Roadside Rapist case, newspaper articles, tweets and transcripts from the case.  I really liked these additions to the story.

There are no chapters in this book which makes it easy to just keep reading so I ended up having a few late nights as I read well past my bedtime! An exciting and well written police procedural thriller, I love this series and can’t wait to see what happens next!

Thank you so much to Ellie from Penguin Viking for inviting me on the tour and for sending me a proof copy of the book. Don’t forget to check out these other awesome bloggers.
