#jinglebookrock rock today asked for white books! I love how white spines look together! My lovely son @tommadethis recently bought me a snow blanket as a prop (he knows me well!) and he was kind enough to help me with this photo! Future bookstragmmer in the making? #bookchallenge #whitebooks #winterscenes #whitespines #silenceofthegirls #beautysleep #stationeleven #thekiterunner #lincolninthebardo #murderattheoldvicarage #herculepoirotschristmas
The tree is up, so let the festive pictures commence! Did anyone see Elizabeth is Missing last night? I'm hoping to watch it this week...I remember really enjoying the book! 🎄 #readsandtreats #redandgreenstack #booksandchristmastrees #thecorset #us #thelibrarianofauschwitz #anechoofscandal #thepower #wheredyougobernadette #thejoyluckclub #bookchallenge #bookstack
All books should have Christmas hats! 🎅 I got to visit the Ironbridge bookshop today! I've been wanting to visit for a long time and we happened to be driving past and my lovely sister @mrsjaneyj took me! It was as lovely as I expected and I may have bought myself a couple of things! Swipe through for some more pics! #theironbridgebookshop #bookshoplover #independantbookshops #penguinbooks #orangepenguins #bookstacks #bookshopping #seabirdsaturday
On the blog today is Echo of a Scandal by Laura Madeleine. Set in Tangiers in 1928 we meet Ale, a young girl wrongly accused of murder who has to flee for her life. Disguising herself as a boy, she manages to get a job as a cook for the wealthy Arthur Langham. But we soon realise she is not the only one with secrets to hide. 50 years later, writer Sam Hackett comes across a writing case with initials A L and senses a mystery attached to it that he sets out to solve. I loved all the descriptions of food and drink in this book. Tangiers really came alive for me and I loved finding out what happened to Ale at the same time as Sam. Really enjoyable historical fiction! And Laura put together a special themed parcel to go with the book including a cocktail inspired by the book, some harissa spices and some scented candles. Thanks to @lauramadeleineauthor for gifting me these goodies! #anechoofscandal #lauramadeleine #historicalfiction #tangiers #bookblogger #booksandcocktails #gifted #bookreview #bookblogger
Day 4 of the @tandemcollectiveuk advent book challenge asks for 3 wise women of literature! I've chosen to interpret this as three female authors I've really enjoyed this year for the first time. These are the ladies I want to read more from! Luckily two have a back catalogue and one has a new book out in 2020! 🎄 @head_in_the_pages came up with today's tag! Check out @tandemcollectiveuk for their daily advent challenge! #tandemadvent #femaleauthors #bookandjumper #cozy #bookchallenge #andrealevy #taylorjenkinsreid #betholeary #theflatshare #thesevenhusbandsofevelynhugo #everylightinthehouseburnin
Day 2 of #jinglebookrock is a book I enjoyed last December. For book club we always do a Christmas murder mystery evening in December. One of our members reads the whole book and on the night the rest of us try and guess who the murderer is! I really enjoyed Hercule Poirot's Poirot's Christmas! I'm not very good at guessing though! Do you enjoy a Christmas murder mystery? #agathachristie #herculepoirotschristmas #christmasmurdermystery #christmasbooks #bookchallenge #bookclub #bookclubreads #bookblogger
