Today on the blog I'm talking about Death and Other Happy Endings by Melanie Cantor. The book is about Jennifer who has just been told she has a rare blood disease and has 3 months to live. Instead of making a bucket list she instead decides to write to the 3 people in her life who have hurt her in some way - her unkind sister, her cheating ex husband and her charming ex boyfriend. I really enjoyed this and despite the gloomy storyline, it was actually quite lighthearted. I really like the idea of writing letters as a way to come to terms with things! I went to a friend's house last night and we had a pampering evening which was lovely although I may have drunk too much wine! Someone is Lying is set in the exclusive gated community of Severn Oaks, where at a Halloween party, Erica fell to her death from a tree house. Ruled as an accident by police, when a podcast starts serialising why her friends are suspects in her murder, everyone gets very nervous! This was great fun...lots of twists and turns as secrets are revealed about the residents and what really happened that night! After the End by @claremackwrites is very different to the thrillers she usually writes! This is the story of Max, Pip and 3 year old Dylan. Dylan has a rare form of brain cancer and is desperately ill in hospital. When the hospital decide there is no further treatment they can offer, Pip and Max are left with the most terrible decision to make. Unfortunately they are unable to agree on what they should do and the court has to decide the outcome. Such a heartbreaking story but so well written! I don't know why I enjoy books that break me but I do! Thank you to @littlebrown and @millieseaward for my ARC! This is one I'll be buying for my forever shelf! Published in 25th June (my birthday!)
